The Birmingham Medical Institute (founded 1875) is a membership organisation whose primary purpose is the provision of education, training and continuing professional development (CPD) for medical, dental, nursing and other healthcare professionals along with appropriate training facilities.
Rooms for Hire
The BMI Conference Centre, offers facilities for organisations in the medical and healthcare world. The Institute also houses the Regional Office of the British Medical Association, the offices of the Birmingham Local Medical Committee, Palm Training and the West Midlands Institute of Psychotherapy.
There are five membership categories: Full Members • Associate Members • Student and Junior Members • Retired Members • Fellows – Fellowships are awarded by the General Committee to those who have given outstanding service to the BMI over the years or to healthcare in the West Midlands in general.
